Digital Video Surveillance
Protect your business from vandalism, theft and
false accident claims with a complete digital video
camera surveillance system.
Video systems are designed to permit surveillance of
the most high-risk areas of your buildings. But some
areas require more than the average coverage. Ahearn
& Soper systems allow users to switch cameras and
angles on command to permit a complete view of important
locations. They also allow users to verify alarms on
sight - and "virtually on site" with full
video coverage of susceptible building locations. What's
more, it could also lower your insurance and liability
payments.

Premier Digital Video Solution
OnGuard Video is the most powerful digital video management
application on the market, offering features that are
unique in the industry. OnGuard Video delivers advanced
data mining and investigative capabilities, whether
it is implemented as a standalone digital video management
system, or as a seamlessly integrated component of Lenel's
Total Security Knowledge Management Solution.
Real-Time Linkage of Video to System Alarms
Using OnGuard Video, digital video clips can be linked
in real time to alarms associated with them. Cameras
can be linked to specific hardware devices to create
an association in the OnGuard database. If an alarm
or an event occurs at a given device, the video will
be recorded by the associated camera(s). Pre- and post-roll
time periods can be configured for every alarm or event
in the system. Comprehensive traces, queries and reports
can be run to assist in an investigation.
Seamless Integration, Ease of Use
With OnGuard Video, system operators can view and manage
access control events and digital video footage on the
same workstation, using the same intuitive graphical
user interface. Because OnGuard Video is seamlessly
integrated, all alarms and events, including links to
video clips, are stored in the same database. All configuration,
linkage, and display of alarm-related video is just
a mouse click away.
Standard Video Capture Technology
Lenel offers an eight channel video board that multiplexes
30 frames per second (fps) across all eight channels
on the board, with a maximum recording rate of 15 fps
possible on up to two channels. For long term storage,
video can be archived to other media sources, including
industry standard tape libraries and hard disk arrays.
OnGuard Video offers immediate retrieval of video on
demand.
New Generation of 30 Frames Per Second Technology
Lenel's newest digital video board provides real-time,
30 frames per second video recording for each camera
associated with it. Lenel leads the market in offering
this high frame rate recording capability. The solution
is ideally suited for use in casinos, banks, point of
sale operations and other high security environments
that require real-time video recording. It is available
in 4, 8, 12 and 16 channel configurations.
Digital Time-Lapse Recording
Digital time-lapse recording significantly reduces
the space required for online and archived video storage.
OnGuard Video can be configured to digitally record
video at a very low frame rate when no motion is detected.
Then, when motion is detected, the recording frame rate
can be automatically increased to capture the event
with greater detail. Parameters can be configured individually
for each camera, including a pre-roll at the higher
frame rate prior to motion.
High Capacity Online Storage
Lenel's extended storage video recorder (DV3) can operate
alongside Lenel's standard video recorder (DVS). The
DV3 boasts a total online storage capacity of more than
1 Terabyte. When other vendors' solutions are forced
to start overwriting video information on smaller hard
drives and lower storage volume, the OnGuard solution
can continue recording without the loss of critical
video data. Because the digital video recorder can store
more days of online video information than was previously
possible, some customers may not even require archival
storage. This simplifies system management and lowers
total cost of ownership. The extended storage chassis
is available in RAID 5 configurations.
Windows 2000 Professional
IT administrators understand the benefits of a system
that utilizes a robust and reliable operating system.
OnGuard Video has been designed to run on the Microsoft
Windows 2000 Professional operating platform. Furthermore,
OnGuard is the only Windows 2000 Certified application
available in the security industry.
Centralized Administration Management
Centralized administration is a hallmark of the OnGuard
solutions portfolio. All video recorders, cameras and
other hardware can be configured and managed from within
the OnGuard Video application. No third party software
is needed. Authorized OnGuard system operators can add,
modify and delete both software and hardware device
records from a single administrative workstation. OnGuard
Video provides complete workstation control over all
aspects of video monitoring and management. From motion
sensitivity to compression control, system operators
have everything they need right at their fingertips.
They can even adjust camera brightness, color and contrast,
and access the pan, tilt and zoom controls.
Centralized Archiving Architecture
OnGuard Video offers the ability to archive video information
from multiple video recorders to a single, centralized
location on the network. The OnGuard archival architecture
reduces the number of man-hours required to maintain
the system, thereby minimizing total cost of ownership.
All administrative tasks, including general system maintenance,
can be performed at a single centralized location, rather
than requiring that these tasks be performed locally
at each video recorder.
Video Clip Exports
Important digital video clips can be copied, exported
and sent via e-mail to any industry-standard media,
or through any industry-standard network infrastructure.
The information can then be viewed using the Lenel VideoViewer
or any standard media player.
Matrix View
Using the Matrix View in OnGuard Video, live or recorded
video can be displayed in up to 32 different windows
simultaneously. In Matrix View, video windows can be
resized from 50% up to 200%, to accommodate user preference
or a unique application. The Matrix View includes a
digital zoom feature, with which a user can zoom in
for a closer view of the object, or zoom out of the
video window to see the camera's entire field of view.
